Assalamualaikum hai .
It's already a few week pass since my visit to United Kingdom for summer vacation . I'm excited to share my experience there . I don't want to write a long introduction . Lets get started !
So , kami stay di UK selama seminggu dan berjaya melawat 5 bandar yang popular sekitar UK .
London - Oxford - Cambridge - Arsenal - Amsterdam
Plan asalnya , kami merancang untuk pergi ke London - Oxford - Edinburgh - Glasgow - Amsterdam, but unfortunately due to some unfortunate event we decide to cancel off our trip to Scotland ( Edinburgh & Glasgow ) . I'm totally upset but it's like a rock lying on the road . You can't do anything about it . Scotland is my dream place . I love nature and Scotland is perfect for that .
Now , I can only stare at those pictures on internet and sigh helplessly . But to think positively maybe Allah has plan another chance for me to be there heheee . In shaa Allah :D
Okay , now I will tell a bit about our preparation before going on a backpacker trip . We use no travel agent and pretty much doing everything by ourselves , from ticket , accomodation , transport , itinerary . Everything .
Before going :
1. Confirm the date time of arrival and departure of you flight ticket . Untuk booking accomodation . Booking awal dapat harga murah sikit .
2. Make up your schedule or itinerary . I almost crack my head while doing this . It is important to study the map , jadi nanti senang nak susun perjalanan . Jangan nanti korang susun dari jauh ke dekat pastu pergi jauh balik dekat balik and so on . Letih tau dan membazir duit transport . Buat ni sebulan awal , jangan last minute nanti pening korang . Untuk itinerary saya recommend apps Sygic Travel . Korang boleh susun melalui web dia , download dekat phone , dia siap ada navigation dia sendiri , but on separate apps . To get premium usage you need to pay , but dont even bother to do that . Not even worth it .
3. Make online reservation for your transport and accomodation . This is important . Kena buat cepat cepat , semakin dekat korang dengan tarikh check in semakin naik harga . Sama jugak kot dengan transport but I'm not really sure about that . Untuk online booking accomodation , korang boleh guna website booking.com dan boleh compare hotel dan hostel daripada yang murah sampai ke mahal . Kalau backpacker macam kitorang yang bergantung kepada budjet ciput duduk hostel pun dah bersyukur . But not recommended for safety sake . Diorang banyak guna credit card atau debit card . So kalau ada salah satu dalam ahli group yang ada card tu boleh la pinjam dulu nanti korang bayar la duit dia balik jangan tak bayar pulak .
*I would like to add some note on accomodation , if you are a student and going to london , I recommend you to stay in Malaysian Hall , harga pun okay . selesa pun selasa , selamat pun selamat . I dont recommend hostel cause usually there is a lot of case barang hilang pasport kena curi yang saya dengar la . Ingat bukan semua orang baik ya . Lagi lagi kalau hostel kan kena share sebilik sampai 8-12 orang . Macam macam boleh jadi tau . Tapi ada je yang elok , hostel kami tempah di scotland 4 bed for about 19 pound each bed . Dia kira per person ya . Kira okay la takde la ramai sangat , kalau ada satu foreigner pun takpe , kami masih dominant dalam bilik . 4. List out your budjet . This will keep you stay on your lane .
5. Study the map of underground , metro , tram or whatever transport you are using there . Nanti sesat susah pulak . Tapi orang orang sana baik baik je , malu bertanya sesat jalan . cewwhh.
4. Print all the ticket and reservation you have made as a evidence . In case tiba tiba sistem diorang nak down ke apa kan mana tahuu .
5. Passport pastikan up to date . Jangan bawak yang dah expired pulak . Nanti pergi UK dekat malaysia je la . Ulu Kelang maksud I .
6. Change your money . Boleh je nak tukar terus di Malaysia atau di airport UK . Tapi kalau ada dollar takyah tukar kat malaysia , tukar je dekat airport UK . Membazir .
7. Pack only necessary stuff . I recommend to only bring hand carry if you're visiting lots of country . So you wouldnt be bother on carrying your luggage around while strolling on a city full with visitor . Since we are on our way back to egypt so we need to carry our luggage around . We suffered a lot . Oh jangan lupa letakkan mandian ke shampoo ke dalam bekas travel kit dan letak dalam beg lut sinar . There is a security scan in the airport which require you to do so . Take note jugak volume yang diorang benarkan . In case korang letak dalam hand carry la . Dalam check in luggage takyah kalut , nak letak yang shampoo besar gedabak pun boleh .
Upon arrival :
1. Search for money changer . If you want to change more money .
2. Search for left luggage store . In our case , we bring lot of luggage and we dont want it to be a nuisance so we left at the airport . For heathrow airport , they charge per bag not per kg .
3. Search for convenience store which sell the transport card . You can get oyster card there . It's important since you will be using a lot of underground in London . Harga kad 5 pound . Kitorang topup 20 pound dan tahan la untuk 3 hari . Lepas tu kena topup lagi kalau tak cukup . Jadi total untuk satu kad 25 pound .

4. Buy a sim card . Beli local sim card sebab untuk dapatkan internet data . Haritu kami guna yang jenama lyca mobile dekat kedai yang sama jual oyster card . Nanti korang banyak guna internet untuk map dan navigate jalan . Wifi bukan semua tempat ada ya . Nanti nak setting sim card dekat phone ni macam ssh sikit . Korang boleh search instruction macam mana nak activekan dekat internet .
5. Get a map . Nanti waktu arrival di airport sebelum immigration check akan ada orang yang bahagi bahagikan map London , amik jangan tak amik .

6. Okay dah boleh gerak ke destinasi yuhuuuu . Dekat airport tu dah connected dengan underground . Search alamat hotel dan tengok kat google map kena naik underground line apa . haritu kami mintak orang local ajarkan tngk map underground tu . Kena tebal la muka sikit .
